The Neanderthal Comet
The nights of this February 2023 were the scene of a unique spectacle that kept not only us romantics, but also astronomers and astro-amateurs looking up to observe the “Neanderthal Comet,” or C/2022 E3 (ZTF). After a journey some 50,000 years long, the comet makes its return passing close to Earth, before moving further and further away toward the edge of the Solar System.
